Dr. Robert Morea  -PT, DPT, OCS, MTC, CSCS

Dr. Robert Morea, the founder and clinical director, has a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine, Florida, and is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy.  He is certified by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.

He is a Certified Manual Therapist, which required 8 post-graduate courses and 21 exams (oral, written, and practical ) to become certified.  He is now able to use these advanced techniques of myofascial and soft tissue manipulation, as well as joint mobilization (including thrust), to treat all aspects of the body ( spine, arms, legs ).  He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Dr. Morea has 13 years experience and has worked in some of the top institutions in the New York area.  He has worked at NYU Medical Center, RUSK Institute, LIJ/ North Shore Health System, and Island Sports Physical Therapy of Glen Cove.

Pilar Latorre-Risch, PT

Pilar graduated from a prestigious Physical Therapy Program in Colombia, South America.  Her 25 years of experience, 22 of which have been in Long Island and the New York Metropolitan area, include a strong background in Neurological Rehabilitation, and patients with complex disabilities due to multiple diagnoses.

In the last 5 years, she has been dedicated to treating and rehabilitating mostly orthopedic patients.  Pilar has experienced a great deal of success with the use of Myofascial Release (MFR), CranioSacral Therapy (CST), and patient education.  Pilar believes that the human body and brain have a physical capability to rehabilitate, utilizing many proven physical therapy techniques and "overdeveloping" the body's intact areas.

Jeanette Mendez - Office Manager       

When you call or come to The Physical Therapy Doctor, P.C. you are greeted by Jeanette, our office manager.  She is very knowledgeable with interpreting insurance statements and benefits.  Jeanette will do her best to help you with scheduling and insurance questions.  She might try to mix a little humor into the conversation too, as she is always trying to make everyone's day more enjoyable.
